Coming for a visit?

Museum Visits:
If your unit is planning a camp-out at Camp Carpenter, or you just want to make a day trip here to see the collection, whether you are a Scout unit or a member of the general public, you really NEED TO LET US KNOW IN ADVANCE.

We have a limited number of volunteer docents and cannot guarantee that the Museum will be open every Wednesday and Saturday. If we know that your group is looking to visit on a certain day, we are far more likely to be able accommodate you. Tours are generally led by a docent, and groups are limited to around ten people per tour, but multiple groups from the same
unit can be arranged sequentially on the same day. In such cases, you are responsible for the activity of the other people you bring who are waiting for, or who have finished, their tour. In most cases, no other Camp program areas are available unless you have made previous arrangements with the Camp.

operating hours.(Link to Scout Shop)

Scouting Heritage Merit Badge:
If you or members of your unit wish to earn the Scouting Heritage Merit Badge, you really NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.
We have a limited number of registered merit badge counsellors and cannot guarantee that we will have one available every day we are open. In order for the merit badge program to work most effectively, there needs to be communication between the counsellors and the Scouts
so that clear expectations can be defined.

All requests for visits or merit badge work are subject to Museum approval, based on the scheduling availability of our volunteers. We will confirm your request with you as quickly as possible, or work with you to schedule an alternate time.
